Catherine Hill Bay is a coastal bay and village on the southern peninsula forming Lake Macquarie, south of the Pacific Ocean entrance channel at Swansea.. It is part of the City of Lake Macquarie local government area.

This quaint little village is the oldest continuous settlement in the City of Lake Macquarie. A surf club sits overlooking the beach that is quite popular for recreation and patrolled during warmer months of the year. Another popular attraction is the historical coal loading wharf dating back to the 19th century.

Catherine Hill Bay is largely untouched by development, and the coastline looks as it would have 100 years ago. You will often find the locals at the 19th century Alehouse, Catherine Hill Bay Pub (or better known as the Catho Pub), enjoying the good food, great atmosphere and strong community.

Surrounding schools include Nords Wharf Public School, Swansea High School and Lake Munmorah High School. This little village is perfect for the buyer seeking a peaceful, quiet sanctuary away, just 30 minutes south of one of the largest shopping centres in this region, Charlestown Square.
